The faculty and the professional staff of the Duke Center for Human Genetics (CHG)are committed to training individuals in human genetics. This includes a variety of medical professionals, both international and domestic scientists interested in performing genetic analysis of complex human disease, medical physician assistant and genetic counseling students, college and high school students, as well as the lay public.
Areas of focus include:
- Family and individual ascertainment
- Genetic linkage studies in Mendelian and complex diseases
- Assessments of gene-gene and gene-environment interactions
- Association and/or disequilibrium studies
- Statistical methods development
- DNA/RNA analysis
- Maintaining and utilizing a repository for biological samples
