Postdoctoral Fellowship in Genetic Epidemiology
The Duke Center for Human Genetics (CHG) has an immediate opening
for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Genetic Epidemiology who will be
trained jointly by a genetic epidemiologist and molecular
geneticist faculty member. This is a position in one of the
largest human genetic research laboratories in the country.
CHG investigators study the genetic epidemiology of multiple
complex human phenotypes, such as glaucoma and other eye diseases,
developmental, neurologic and psychiatric disorders, as well as
cardiovascular and metabolic disease. The applicant should be
familiar with both commercial statistical software packages
(e.g. SAS) and commonly used freely available statistical-genetic
software. Flexibility in using a variety of computer platforms
is necessary. The applicant should be able to work independently
and be interested in applying and developing novel approaches for
analyzing genome-wide SNP, CNV (structural variation), gene
expression and epigenetic data . Downstream translational research
applications include the integration of genomic, proteomic, metabolomic
and environmental exposure data. A PhD degree in epidemiology,
biostatistics, statistics or a related field is required.
Send a cover letter detailing interest in the position, curriculum
vitae, and a list of three professional references by mail to:
