MGC Genotyping Service

Microsatellites

Custom microsatellite genotyping is performed on Applied Biosystems' 3730 DNA Analyzer, which can analyze up to 1000bp fragments. Raw data analysis is performed with GeneMapper^® software from Applied Bioysystems.

SNPs

Focused uniplex SNP genotyping is performed on Applied Biosystems' 7900HT Real-Time PCR System using both pre-developed and custom TaqMan^® SNP Genotyping Assays. Uniplex genotyping is best used to interrogate a small number of SNPs on a large number of samples. Raw data analysis is performed with Sequence Detection Systems software from Applied Biosystems.

Focused multiplex SNP genotyping is performed on Illumina's iScan System using their BeadArray^® technology. Illumina's targeted beadchips offer standard and custom content with 384 - 200,000 multiplexed SNP assays. Raw data analysis is performed with GenomeStudio^™ Data Analysis software from Illumina.

Genome Wide Association Studies (GWAS) are performed on Illumina's iScan System using their BeadArray^® technology. Illumina's GWAS beadchips offer standard content with 300,000 - 1,000,000 multiplexed SNP assays. Raw data analysis is performed with GenomeStudio^™ Data Analysis software from Illumina.
